The YAO – New York chapter is looking for passionate individuals to join the chapter leadership team for a one-year commitment. Contribute YAO volunteer hours alongside a team of young, adventurous and fun New Yorkers, and make a real global impact.
We’re currently recruiting for the following positions:
Membership and Recruitment Chair
• Welcome new members and help them plug into areas of interest within the chapter
• Maintain member database
• Research and establish contact with potential membership sources, including other nonprofits, schools, young professional groups, etc.
• Work closely with YAO’s Communications and Media Chair to implement social networking and PR campaigns
Fundraising Chair
• Coordinate planned fundraisers
• Research and track funding opportunities (grants, donations, etc.)
• Meet and educate major donors about Opportunity International’s work
• Ensure that all all donors receive a thank you
Education Chair
• Stay up-to-date on Opportunity International initiatives and advances in microfinance
• Coordinate Ambassador Trainings with Opportunity headquarters
• Educate YAO core team, general members and outside community about Opportunity International
• Implement planned educational events

Time Commitments:
• Once a month – two-hour evening leadership meeting
• Once a month – evening social event with members
• Once a year – annual leaders retreat
