Great interviews with Tamara Cook! Love that the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Opportunity continue to strive to reduce the cost of banking and bring banking products to the rural poor. As Tamara says not all pilot programs have worked but out of each pilot comes learnings and the determination to improve the process is inspirational. As long as we have organizations such as these we will continue to make strides in reaching every unbanked individual!

I listened to Tamara speak of the new mobile phone banking occurring at OIBM. OIBM has forged the way for other Opportunity banks to do the same – including those in Rwanda, Ghana, South Africa, etc. The success in Kenya and Malawi can be replicated!
